How do we collect personal information?

We collect most personal information directly from you.  We may also collect information from you electronically; for instance, when you visit our website.

Sometimes we collect personal information about you from other people.  For instance, from other BitCloud Group companies, Business Partners or from publicly available sources of information.

How do we hold personal information?

Much of the personal information we hold will be stored electronically in secure BitCloud owned data centres. These data centres are located in Australia. We use a range of security measures to protect the personal information we hold.

 

Do We Use or Disclose Personal Information for Marketing?

We will use your personal information to offer you products and services we believe may interest you, but we will not do so if you tell us not to. These products and services may be offered by a member of the BitCloud or one of its preferred suppliers.

We may offer you products and services by various means, including by mail, telephone, email, SMS or other electronic means , such as through social media or targeted advertising through BitCloud websites.

 

How We Use Cookies

Cookies are used to identify you to our web servers. This information can then be used to customise the web site or set preferences for you. This information is collected and used for internal marketing purposes.

BitCloud uses Display Advertising from Google, and we have implemented Google Analytics features based on Display Advertising (eg. Remarketing). Visitors to the BitCloud website can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Networok ads using the Ads Preferences Manager. BitCloud follows the Google Adwords Remarketing Policy and its sensitive category restrictions.

BitCloud uses Remarketing with Google Analytics to advertise online. Third-party vendors, including Google, show BitCloud ads on sites across the Internet. BitCloud and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on someone's past visits to our website.

 

How We Share Information

We do not sell your information to third parties but may share it with related companies, as defined by the national privacy Act. We may also share statistical information with third parties, without disclosing individual details, unless those details are necessary for fulfilling a service order you have requested. For example, a carriage service or a domain name contract.

We may disclose details to, and collect details from, credit or fraud agencies, or debt recovery agencies for verification purposes, or for debt reporting or collection purposes.

We may also disclose details about you to

  • government and regulatory authorities and other organisations, as required or authorised by law
  • our professional advisers, including our accountants, auditors and lawyers
  • organisation involved in sale or transfer of our assets or managing corporate risk and corporate funding

 

Security and Credit Card information

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and from unauthorised access.

All staff is instructed not to disclose private information to anyone. We take security very seriously and have state of the art systems to ensure security of all information.

We attempt to keep all information up to date but we rely on you to inform us of any changes of your details.

BitCloud uses strong SSL encryption on all pages that deal with credit card information. All such information is always only transmitted to the banking system via secure, encrypted connections.

Once credit card details are processed, they are only ever stored using industry standard encryption onto physically separated servers with no direct access to the internet.

Removal of Your Information

You may request in writing that certain information about you is removed, which we will comply with, provided that information is not necessary for tax purposes or to identify you or for contractual reasons. We will not consider requests to alter or remove statistical information. We cannot prevent our web servers from issuing cookies, it is your responsibility to refuse acceptance of these if you so wish.
