Fully Managed Server Backups

BitCloud employs a number of data protection methodologies across our cloud environment including the use of enterprise grade SANs with redundancy and raid protection. This is however not an alternate to data backups that should always be employed whenever any valuable data is stored. Customers should always ensure they design and manage an appropriate backup process for their systems.

BitCloud offers all our customers fully managed backup services. This involves using specialised software to take daily backups of customer servers, with no interruption to the server and without the need for intrusive agents to be installed within the customer servers.

These backups can then be used to rollback to a current server image or temporarily activated as a cloned running server if customers need to access some data from inside the server.

All such managed backups are stored on physically separated and fully secured storage systems. Customers have the further option of selecting to have their backups stored in a region (city) different to their primary server zone, meeting the requirements of keeping off-site backups.

The 3 managed backup options currently offered are:

  • Daily Backups - $50 per month
    We will make and store 14 daily backups of your server
  • Daily & Monthly Backups - $90 per month
    We will make and store 14 daily backups as well as 12 monthly backups of your server
  • Daily & Monthly Off-Site Backups - $140 per month
    We will make and store 14 daily backups as well as 12 monthly backups of your server. The backups will be stored in a region(city) different to your servers.

The above prices apply to all servers that use less then 200GB storage, custom backup options can be provided for larger server requirements.

The above service includes one free backup retrieval per month, additional retrieval requests will incur a fee of $250 + GST each.
